AC Milan have confirmed the signing of US international striker Christian Pulisic. On Thursday, the Serie A Titans shared on social media their acquisition of the 24-year-old on a four-year deal, with an option for an extra year included in the deal. He will wear the No 11 shirt for his new club.

The American national team captain has become the latest name to leave Premier League side Chelsea amid a huge revamp at Stamford Bridge following their poor showing last season.

The American will reunite with former Blues team-mates Fikayo Tomori and long-term club servant Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who joined Milan in a £15m deal at the end of last month.

In their farewell message to the American striker, Chelsea wrote: ‘We wish Christian well and thank him for all his contributions during his time at the club.’

Pennsylvania-born Pulisic came through the US youth system before joining Borussia Dortmund in 2015.

In 2019, he moved from the Bundesliga to Premier League side Chelsea, where he featured 145 times, scoring 26 goals for the Blues.

While in West London, he won one Champions League title, one European Super Cup, and one Club World Cup. He was also only the second American to score a hat-trick in the Premier League, after netting three goals against Burnley.

However, his time with Chelsea was hit by injury, and he scored just one goal and made two assists in 30 games last season.

Pulisic has 60 caps for the USA’s American national team, scoring 25 goals. He has won the CONCACAF Nations League twice with his country too.

On Wednesday, Mail Sport reported that Pulisic had arrived in Milan for his medical, ahead of the confirmation of his four-year deal with the Rossoneri.

Chelsea are rebuilding this summer after their 12th-placed finish in the Premier League during the 2022-23 season.

Kai Havertz, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, Kalidou Koulibaly, N’Golo Kante, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Edouard Mendy have all exited Stamford Bridge, while new manager Mauricio Pochettino is expected to oversee new talent coming in to fill their gaps.

AC Milan finished the 2022-23 season in fourth place, 20 points behind Serie A Champions Napoli. They will be one of four Italian sides in the Champions League this autumn, alongside Napoli, Lazio, and crosstown rivals Inter Milan.
